Nick Thompson is the Director of Hotels at JLL NZ. He has over 15 years’ experience in the property sector including valuations, sales, relationship management and leadership and strategic roles.
Nick returned to JLL in 2019 following a number of years at other real estate firms. During his career he has transacted many high profile hotel assets and development sites.
In previous roles, Nick valued some of the most notable assets in New Zealand and the South Pacific, and was directly involved in a wide range of hotel transactions. He has provided a range of investment advice to many institutional and tourism related entities in New Zealand and the wider South Pacific.
Nick completed his Bachelor of Property in 2004 before his ‘big OE’, where he discovered his passion for tourism while running a large youth hostel in Southern France during summer, and ski chalets in the French Alps during the winter. Following his overseas travel, Nick completed a Master of Finance and gained valuer registration in 2010.
Notable sales include Stamford Plaza Auckland, Six Senses Fiji, Grand Mercure Nelson, Heritage Hanmer Springs, Heritage Dunedin, Haka Hotel Suites and development sites at 5 Albert Street and 13 Albert Street Auckland CBD.
Nick’s qualifications and experience offer a strong platform for providing sound advice for a range of hotel and tourism assets, and are ideally suited to his specialisation in the field of tourism real estate.
