Karen has more than 20 years’ experience in commercial real estate, acquired in both in New Zealand and the UK.
Her career began in 1998, having graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Urban Property Surveying from Newcastle University. Over 12 years in the UK Karen honed her skills in commercial real estate, focusing on strategic retail asset management and leasing working with major institutional and private property companies and investors such as Capital & Regional, British Land, Grosvenor Estate and Scottish Widows. Karen has also been a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 2003.
Karen moved to Christchurch in 2011 and initially worked for a high-end Retail Mall as a Manager, focusing on operational aspects including day-to-day mall management and leasing.
In 2014 Karen began working for an international real estate company as a Retail Broker. Her focus was on retail leasing in major new developments as part of the rebuild of the exciting new Christchurch CBD Retail Precinct. Since then, Karen has played a central role in retail sales and leasing in Christchurch and has been instrumental in leasing major retail developments such as Tower Junction Mega Centre owned by Ngai Tahu Property.
Karen joined JLL NZ to cement her position as a commercial sales and leasing agent in Central Christchurch, suburbs and the wider Canterbury area. Solution-based thinking, attention to detail and determination to achieve her clients’ objectives are the pillars of Karen’s business.
