Lending a hand to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Calgary
JLL real stories: JLL Canada helps client serve a local charity in need
As businesses adapted due to COVID-19, JLL Canada client Romero Distilling Co., focused on helping those in need by shifting its rum production to hand sanitizer.
JLL’s David Lees, Executive Vice President, and the JLL team in Calgary saw this as an opportunity to support a local charity requesting hand sanitizer donations. With the help of their colleagues in Vancouver, the team collected $2,000 to produce hand sanitizer for Ronald McDonald House Charities in Calgary. The amount was matched by Romero Distilling, allowing for the production of 1,000 bottles of hand sanitizer that were then distributed to the organization.
“Helping communities during this pandemic was our main priority. In times of crisis, we wanted to give back to the organizations who need it the most. We’re grateful to organizations like JLL who have helped us distribute hand sanitizer, a product in high demand at this time,” said Tomas Romero from Romero Distilling.
Ronald McDonald House Charities Alberta helps provides a home-away-from-home to hundreds of families with children receiving vital medical treatment each year.
“Their cause is dear to us and we wanted to help any way we could to support them,” said David Lees.
