Challenge
Global luxury duty-free retailer DFS needed to undertake a major refurbishment of the category 1 Customs House. This is in addition to a high-quality retail fit-out consisting of 45 luxury boutiques with the request that the department store would remain trading throughout the project.
Approach
Upon determining the needs of DFS, we took on the role of Project Manager and Engineer to manage a large international team. To ensure minimal disruption to trading, the project was planned, procured, and delivered across six separate chapters, with multiple sub-sections in line with the specific requirements for each of the brands during construction.
Result
We helped to create a character shopping destination for Auckland whilst preserving the heritage of one of New Zealand’s landmark buildings and providing minimal disruption to retail trading throughout the project.
