The Christchurch market continued see strong improvements over the last 6 months and the rebuild in Christchurch will accelerate in 2014 with the predicted construction of some 7000 dwellings. Within the city centre however, development remains minimal as occupiers continue to focus on areas outside the CBD. The suburban areas continue to accelerate as tenant demand picks up, with strong demand particularly in western suburbs. Buildings with minimal damage continue to be well sought after and vacancy levels for these properties remain at very low levels.
