Commercial property specialists JLL brokered the deal to the trio who will be taking up 1,107sqm of collaborative space on level 11 of the Boulcott Street premises.

“The Domain Name Commission Ltd and NZRS Ltd are subsidiary companies of InternetNZ and all three are currently housed across two separate floors in the Grand Arcade Building which fronts 16 Willis Street” says Stu Turnbull, Office Leasing Agent at JLL.

InternetNZ works for a better world through a better Internet. It promotes the Internet’s benefits and uses, protects its potential and is founded on the principle of advancing an open and uncaptureable Internet.

Turnbull worked with InternetNZ to find a space which met their needs, the most important requirement was to find a larger floor plate that would allow the three organisations to be on one level and therefore promote a more collaborative working environment.

“80 Boulcott Street was an obvious choice as the larger floor plates facilitate face-to-face communication between the businesses and supports their mutual goal of increased workplace efficiency and cohesion” says Turnbull.

80 Boulcott Street and Willis Street’s Grand Central Tower make up part of the privately owned Grand Central Complex. Property specialists JLL also manage this complex on behalf of the Singaporean landlords, Grand Central Properties.

80 Boulcott Street is particularly appealing to tenants due to its central CBD location, excellent parking facilities and easy access to the Wellington motorway. This appeal is proven as the building is 100% occupied and features a strong tenancy profile with several other well-known occupants including BNZ, Housing NZ Corporation and EFTPOS NZ.

“Wellington’s CBD office market is set to remain strong over 2015 with limited spaces like this one available for lease – other than a couple that are available off market, so moving into a single shared environment is a great strategy undertaken by this collective as they have taken an approach that is structured around enhancing productivity and enabling their staff to work more co-operatively in order to keep delivering successful results” adds Turnbull.
