Now in its third year running, the Property Industry Charity Ball in support of the Auckland Cancer Society Research Centre is to be held on Friday September 11th at the Auckland Town Hall. Now one of the most premier social events on the property industry calendar, RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is proud to be presenting this year’s ball promising industry professionals a memorable night of glamour, entertaining and networking.

"It is great to see that RICS have taken on what has previously been a very successful event for a great cause. We're really pleased and proud to see this inaugural property ball continue," says Rachel Smith of JLL who previously hosted and co-founded the annual ball along with Chris Jones from Robert Jones Holdings.

The quality of the Property Industry Charity Ball is reflected in the high profile names of this year’s event partners True Commercial and Uber, and sponsors JLL, Mansons TCLM, Ebert Construction, Resene, Black Interiors and Fletcher Construction.

RICS Acting New Zealand Manager Martine Fernandez says, “The RICS are delighted to be hosting the Property Industry Charity Ball this year picking up from the fantastic events Rachel Smith and Chris Jones have held in past years. The RICS has huge support in New Zealand and we trust Members and the whole property industry will get behind this event as it is supporting an amazing charity which we can all relate to.  We are happy to be collaborating with a great committee of young and talented property professionals putting the event together and know that this year’s event is going to be a huge success!”

The previous two years have been a sell-out with 500 property industry professionals attending in 2013 and 600 attending in 2014. This year is expected to be another hit with up to 1,000 attendees predicted and the hope that an even greater donation will be made to the Auckland Cancer Society Research Centre which is at the forefront of cancer drug discovery and development. With the help of generous corporate support the ball has the potential to raise over $20,000 for the Auckland Cancer Society Research Centre. The proceeds from the Property Ball go toward working on new ways that will help improve cancer therapy and the development of anti-cancer drugs.

The ball’s previous themes have been an enormous success with a 1920s Gatsby theme and Après Ski Glamour. This year’s theme is Orient.

“A big thanks to our organising committee which includes members from RICS, JLL, CBRE, Colliers, Hampton Jones, Beca and Wareham Cameron + Co” adds Fernandez.

The price of the ticket includes drinks, stand-up dinner and entertainment that will continue all night long with all proceeds going to the Auckland Cancer Society Research Centre. This event is sure to be a sell-out again so get your tickets now!
