JLL have been appointed as exclusive leasing agents on the new build under construction at 205 Durham Street, Christchurch central. With this new mixed-use development expected to be completed in May this year,  JLL are anticipating office occupiers will get in quick to secure the last remaining space in this high-quality premise.

Already confirmed to move into this prominent new build are café/bar Zagato, who have agreed to take up the retail space on the ground floor as well as Christchurch law firm, Layburn Hodgins, who have agreed to take 300sqm of office space on the first floor. A total of 700sqm of office space still remains on floors 1 and 2 of the 3-level building and completion of works is expected in May 2015.

Jesse Paenga, office leasing agent at JLL says, “With many of the larger corporate occupiers already confirming space in the CBD, 205 Durham Street provides the opportunity for smaller tenants to make their move back to the CBD, without the exorbitant rents.”

“The Justice Precinct is underway which is set to create a hive of activity in the area and we are already receiving a heightened interest from Law firms wanting to take advantage of the close proximity of the building which is within walking distance to the Justice Precinct,” Paenga continues.

The new build is located less than 400 metres from the new Justice Precinct on the fringe of the South Frame, a high-profile corner site at Durham and Walker Street in the heart of the CBD. Also located nearby is the South City Mall, providing staff with access to amenities. Designed by RM Designs, the mixed-use building provides 1,103sqm of lettable area on spacious open floors with the ground floor dedicated solely to retail and the remaining two-floors, office. The property provides high exposure to the one-way traffic, great natural lighting, well-defined public access and terraces with city views.

“Another attraction for tenants is the onsite undercover car parking and easy street parking. Car parking is still a major issue in the CBD, and so 205 Durham Street has been designed to overcome this. And for those who prefer to ride into work, bike stands are also provided.”

Naming rights are also available for 205 Durham Street and the building is fully compliant to the New Zealand Building Code and constructed to the new and required earthquake code.
