Jones Lang LaSalle's specialist Retail Property Management team have recently secured another key instruction after being appointed by TONEA Investments (NZ) Limited to manage its flagship development Takinini Village in Auckland.

The recently opened Takanini Village comprises 12,000 sqm of retail and 800 sqm of office space with prime national retailers including The Warehouse, House of Travel, Telecom and The Coffee Club occupying the centre. Jones Lang LaSalle will be providing a full suite of specialist retail property and facilities management services.

Alistair Penny, Director – Retail, Property & Asset Management, says, "We are delighted to have been given this opportunity to manage Takanini Village. As this key high growth area of South Auckland continues to grow and develop as an area, Takanini Village will undoubtedly become a major meeting place and hub for the area. Our experienced team will be able to ensure this centre is at the centre   of the Takanini community.

Rob Wallace, Director of TONEA Investments (NZ) Limited, adds, "The concept behind the development of Takanini Village was to provide a quality shopping hub for the local community –a town centre experience for the fast-growing suburbs of Takanini and Addison. We've worked hard at providing a real mix of retail and food outlets attracting such tenants as The Warehouse, Coffee Club, Pita pit, as well as a brand new gastro bar which we feel will all be a huge draw to local residents.

"We have also started working on a second stage to the development located at the north of the village, and we are looking to progress the design for this further in the New Year. With the management and support from the Jones Lang LaSalle's PAMS team we will aim to create a prime retail experience."

Securing this instruction adds another key asset to Jones Lang LaSalle's growing portfolio of retail properties under management which includes Merivale Mall and Eastgate Shopping Centre in Christchurch and The Roskill Centre in Mount Roskill, Auckland.
